Campaign FAQ
What services does CDSA provide?
CDSA is about vision, and turning that vision into action. We have helped shape the community and spurred it to make vital strides since our beginning 30 years ago.
Early Childhood Programs
- Child Care Resource and Referral strives to make quality child care accessible and ensure that families who use child care can make informed decisions
- Parents as Teachers is based on the philosophy that parents are each child's first and most influential teacher. Hundreds of young families benifit from the guidance of a parent educator each year
Self-Sufficiency Programs
- The Workforce Investment Act program is offered over a nine county area to people seeking to enter the workforce, or upgrade skills to become more employable.
- Rx for Oklahoma assists uninsured and under-insured people receive prescription medications free or at a reduced cost through pharmaceutical assistance programs
- CDSA housing programs help elderly homeowners remain in their homes by providing weatherization services, emergency repair services and handicap access assistance
- CDSA's housing rehabilitation program repairs existing housing to improve neighborhoods
- Three emergency shelter units help homeless families to stabilize themselves
- CDSA is a HUD certified housing counseling agency and provides comprehensive housing counseling, including homebuyer education
- The Enid Supported Employment Program helps people with disabilities to find work and then assigns a job coach to help the client learn the job. The job coach then provides follow-up services to ensure job retention
- YouthBuild helps young people complete their high school education while learning construction skills and improving their neighborhoods
Community Planning and Development
- CDSA staff members provide community planning and development services through staff support to the Enid Metropolitan Area Human Service Commission and numerous sub-committees. We also provide research and writing for community needs assessments
- Smart Start is a special community coalition designed to target the needs of infants and young children to make sure they are healthy, protected, cared for, stimulated and prepared for school by the age of six
What is being asked of the community and others?
We are asking the community to join us and invest in its children and its future and contribute to our capital campaign to create a Non-Profit Center and Early Childhood Resource Center in downtown Enid. To do this, you can either donate online here, write a check, or download a pledge form and send it to: CDSA Inc. 2615 E. Randolph, Enid OK 73701.
What is CDSA's plan for the 48,750 square foot space?
- Non-profit incubator space for emerging non-profits with access to fiscal support, grant writing expertise, IT management, mentoring, and shared resources, reception, telephone system, high speed internet, community kitchen, training space, and banquet area
- A non-profit resource library, including shared subscriptions to on-line support services, funding information, and training materials
- An early childhood resource and toy lending library
- Model child care training areas
- Leading edge employment and child care training facilities
- Disaster response facility
- High quality meeting rooms
- State-of-the-art technology
- Consolidation of CDSA services into one customer friendly location
What will be the total outcome?
The need for a Non-Profit Center and Early Childhood Resource Center is clearly established and could not come at a more critical moment in history. The 48,750 sq. ft Center will provide:
- The single largest direct service center in the area, thus providing easier access for the people we serve
- More efficient social service organizations
- Expanded access to resources
- Increased quality of child care
- Increased collaboration and a reduction of duplication of services
