Community Development Support Assn., Inc. (CDSA) has been awarded United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields clean-up funds to remove asbestos and lead-based paint from the future site of the nonprofit center located at 114 South Independence, Enid, Oklahoma. The building contains various materials that are comprised of asbestos as well as surfaces that are coated with lead-based paint.

In accordance with the EPA Brownfields regulations, a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) and an Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Activities (ABCA) must be prepared and made available for public review before cleanup begins. These reports include information about:

  • The site and the contamination that has been documented
  • Exposure pathways, contamination
  • Laws, regulations, standards
  • Analysis of potential cleanup activities, including "no action".
  • Discussion of the proposed scope of cleanup and factors considered in evaluating and recommending the cleanup planned
A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. to provide information and review the plan at:
