Energy efficient, cost efficient new house at 1002 E. Randolph, Enid, Oklahoma

Please join CDSA and visit the newly completed single family home constructed of structural insulated panels (SIPs) Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at noon. The address is 1002 E. Randolph, Enid, Oklahoma, behind Longfellow Junior High School.

The highly energy efficient home was constructed as a potential model for in-fill new construction in older Enid neighborhoods. Structural insulated panels are high performance building panels used in floors, walls, and roofs. The panels are made by sandwiching a core of rigid foam plastic insulation between oriented strand board. This construction method results in a solid, air tight, home with very low utility costs.

The 2 bedroom house is also designed to efficiently use the lot and the small square footage. The interior features a vaulted ceiling, stained concrete floors, and a loft bonus room.
