Community Development Support Association, Inc. is a private, non-profit community action agency. The agency mission is to work with others to identify needs, secure resources, and deliver services that improve lives in our communities.
CDSA receives funding from approximately forty different funding sources. Some funding the agency receives is passed through to other non-profits in the community.
In addition, CDSA staff members provide services to the Enid Metropolitan Area Human Service Commission and its subcommittees including the Emergency Assistance Task Force, Youth Opportunity Task Force, and the Housing Council.
CDSA provides planning and direct services through the following programs:

| 2-1-1 North Central Oklahoma |
2-1-1 is an easy to remember, FREE 24-hour telephone number that connects people with important community services ranging from accessing physical and mental health resources to discovering opportunities to make donations and to volunteer. 2-1-1 makes the process simple. It is the one central phone number available every day of the year that helps people get in touch with health and human service agencies, including: - Basic Human Needs Resources - food banks, clothing closets, shelters, rent assistance, utility assistance
- Physical and Mental Health Resources - health insurance programs, Medicaid and Medicare, maternal health, Children’s Health Insurance Program, medical information lines, crisis intervention services, support groups, counseling, drug and alcohol intervention and rehabilitation.
- Employment Supports - financial assistance, job training, transportation assistance, education programs.
- Support for Older Americans and Persons with Disabilities - adult day care, congregate meals, Meals on Wheels, respite care, home health care, transportation, homemaker services.
- Support for Children, Youth and Families – child care, after school programs, Head Start, family resource centers, summer camps and recreation programs, mentoring, tutoring, protective services.

| Child Care Finders |
Child Care Finders strives to make quality child care accessible to all families and ensure that families who use child care can make informed decisions about the program that best suits their needs. This is done by offering comprehensive information, free child care referral and consumer education through the child care referral line. Child Care Finders staff also provide training to child care operators and operate a toy lending library and resource center so that child care operators can increase their skills and have access to a broad range of toys and resources.

| Enid Supported Employment Program (ESEP) |
The Enid Supported Employment Program provides services to persons with disabilities, giving them the opportunity to successfully integrate into the community by achieving employment and job retention. CDSA job coaches help clients to find employment. Job coaches learn the job, teach the job to the client, and provide on site assistance until the client can perform the work alone. Job coaches also provide follow up to ensure that the client has the support they need to maintain employment.

| Housing |
Housing programs include owner-occupied rehabilitation, weatherization, transitional housing, emergency repairs, and housing counseling. In addition, the housing department may work with private developers to seek funding for the rehabilitation or new construction of single or multi-family housing projects. CDSA also operates three emergency shelter units. One unit is provided as emergency shelter for families, while two other apartments provide transitional shelter. All person in either emergency or transitional shelter receive intensive case management services. Housing programs are funded through the Community Development Block Grant, the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency, the Department of Energy, and the Department of Human Services. | Housing Counseling |
CDSA is a HUD certified housing counseling agency. Housing counselors provide one-on-one counseling to renters, homeowners, potential homeowners and homeless persons. In addition, housing counselors offer home buyer education classes for persons interested in purchasing their first home.

| Parents As Teachers (PAT) |
Parents As Teachers is an early childhood family education and support program based on the philosophy that parents are each child’s first and most influential teachers. The program suggests parenting activities that encourage intellectual and language development, as well as physical and social skills. The PAT program is voluntary and is offered to families with children under age three regardless of income. PAT workers make monthly home visits and provide additional opportunities for parents of young children.

| Smart Start |
Smart Start is a community coalition designed to target the needs of infants and young children to make sure they are healthy, protected, cared for, stimulated, and prepared for school by the age of six. The main project of the local Smart Start coalition last year was an early literacy project entitled “Read to Me”. The Smart Start committee also promotes the Family Friendly Awards for employers whose policies demonstrate support for families. Program funding is received by CDSA for employment of the project coordinator.

| Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult and Dislocated Worker Program |
The WIA Adult and Dislocated Worker Program is offered over a nine county area to persons who are seeking to either enter or re-enter the workforce or to upgrade skills in order to become more employable. The WIA program helps with supportive services and training costs if these things are necessary to move a participant toward successful employment.
